Mixing Fate and Family

Who knew it could flourish and bloom?
Who saw it coming
Much too soon?
How, those years ago,
Could they imagine
The colors would show.

A seed was thrown into the soil,
Without intention,
Though potential full.

Passing moons and mistakes;
A wet code welcomes a crack in the shell.
A hard shell broken
By flow of emotion,
An inundation is to pursue.

And so the bud becomes a sprout,
The sprout a glorious blossom;
A crack in the sidewalk,
A line on a map.

A scar in the past
Will never be the same;
The future is ours
To mangle and tame.
