Where Were You?

Trust is power.
It is difficult to earn.
It takes but seconds to lose it.
Never will i trust you again.
Never can you take back the words that have already been said.
A word escapes your lips and is never forgotten.
A lie escapes your lips and is never truly forgiven.

Who am I?

I keep seeing myself with new eyes,
Every day i wake up to someone i don't recognize.
I stare blankly into the mirror,
The only thing that fills me is fear.
Who am I?

The First Storm

There are storms beyond this moment,
Ahead of this time and place.
I am tucked safely away
Creating my own storms.

I feel the electricity as it races through my body.
From my head to my toes,
I feel the insanity.
We're mesmerized
As we look into the others eyes.

As much as I'd love to be freed from this inundation
I love to stick around and see the end of the storm.
In the cold rain,
I still feel warm.
I stand in the lighting
But i face no harm.

Just keep that outstanding smile,
I hope it sticks around for awhile.
The wind is howling outside,
But inside I'm doing fine.

Happy Birthday Dad!

There have been a lot of boys,
They come and go,
They forget to treasure me,
They forget that "forever" they mentioned long ago.
From 1996
Till today,
There has only been one man who stayed.

My butts too big,
My boobs are too small,
But my daddy thinks im perfect.

"you're a little witch!"
He teases me to get me back.
Maybe those words sting a bit,
But hes my dad!

So to the "Red Foreman's" of the world,
With their feet always up someone's back side,
You have absolutely nothing on my dad!

Sorry if i dont hug you enough,
And how old are you exactly..?
By the way, I'll be 15 in a week.
Oh yeah, I almost forgot
My name isn't Liz.
It's okay if you can't understand Facebook...
But i think its awesome that a dinosaur can text!
(ROTFLOLMAO) <---i'll tell you what that means someday...

The dude who teaches you the important stuff,
Like how to dance,
Or to water skii,
Or drive without crossing your arms into pretzels
Or that "all guys are dogs"
He's the guy i'll love till the end.

Just don't shave your head.

Have You Ever Wished for Silence?

From the day we are born to the day we die, we are surrounded by sound.
Sound is persistent.
Sound is constant.
Cries, followed by joy.
A dog bark, becomes familiar.
Daddy's car door, as he comes home late from work.
Music, an immediate love.
Screams depicting horrid fights, recoil under the covers.
Sounds are my secret, nobody needs to know I heard that.
Chalk scratches.
Loud clapping.
Birds chirp forcing a lovely spring day into cliché.
Alarms to alert and awake.
Loud beeps from strange machines, become a familiar melody.
She walks in the room at the age of 90,
Familiar beeps, his heart still races.

At the end, what is left?
A sound so foreign,
So unusual.
A sound you've never experienced before,
It is unrecognizable,
Unexplainable.
A sound you've only imagined before today,
And now that you've achieved it you only want to go back.
Back to the noise,
The cries,
The shouts,
The beeps.
Just take away the unbearable silence.

Sink or Fade

Fade;
Death forces a sheet upon us.
Forever some shall remain as memories,
Others shall fall as clouds; forgotten?
Time alone heals no wounds.
Fall or fade as you may,
Death will conquer us all someday.
The withered fingers,
With wretched grip
Steals upon its newest victim.
Grabs him by the neck.
Forces, force your soul downward.
Fiery glances before your demise.
When one said "it is never too late to say goodbye."
They must have lied.
You scream a final farewell.
A daunting fate has always portrayed you.
Falling back, with clouds.
Some say they could never forget those who are tossed away.
Some pray they'll never cross paths with a dark creature such as yourself.
Falling deeper into demise,
You're fading fast.
The dead are never forgotten.
You're always on someones mind.

My Soldier, My Hero, My Love

My soldier
Stand tall
Even if the world seems big,
Even if you may feel small.
Stand tall, brave soldier.
The battles will soon be over.

My hero,
Stay near.
Even while you stand thousands of miles away.
Even if the day never comes,
Stay near, hero.
I need you here.

My love,
Fight bravely.
Stand as though there are no winds against you.
Even if you begin to fall,
Expect to see me there,
I'll catch you.
Fight bravely, love.
You will be home soon.

Maybe Something Exciting, Then?

I look through your face
I see your soul.
I search what's there,
I found my heart.
Lost and broken in a hospital chair.
Your heart lies near,
Taking good care.
Don't let me return to reality,
Let me lie in your soul forever
Because this is where i finally see,
I did deserve better.

I've Never Been a Fan

I'm sorry to say that I'm glad that you're sad.
You've lost the one who you always had.
Now that I'm gone,
Do you feel any regret?
My heart is withdrawn,
Does it sting yet?

Soft Spoken

I don't feel like I'm dying,
I feel like I'm dead.
I'm no longer bleeding,
I've already bled.
I beg you; release me
From what I've already said.

Lonely Let Down Inside-Out

I feel like I'm dying
More and more
Every second I'm "alive".
Maybe the vitals on my EKG are just a lie
Sure, I'll walk ten steps,
But with every breath I'd rather die.

Let me go,
Release me from this life.
Maybe I'm alive
But from within I'd rather die.
Its murder from the inside.

Saftey Net

Getting mad for the greater good,
I understand you now.
I look at the situation,
From the spot which you once stood.

You yelled, you swore,
You called me dumb.
You always defended me when they called me "whore".
You didn't want me to feel the numb.
You didn't want me to hurt.

You were right,
I lost my cool.
I didn't want to fight,
I'm afraid of losing you

Using a Combination Lock to Avoid the Key

A lock, a key, and a knife.
Surely, the drawer remains closed.
For a moment, glances pass the hollow space below the sink.
If the unseen lock were to be peeled away,
Memories, regrets and pain would fly out and be reunited with the air, the light
And the spirit in the room.
These escaped emotions weigh heavily on the mind who created the lock.
Freedom becomes impossible at the unveiling of the drawers’ contents.
Key and knife are one of a kind.
Metal, and sharp
Ever so eager to slice through the flesh of those who behold their power.
Two objects, to so many.
Beheld in the eyes of their owner,
A death is imminent at the sight of their lust.
Lust is how they became her possession.
Loss is what formed the lock.
Strength combined with fear,
Such an odd combination,
Will keep the lock sealed forever.

May Showers Cease to Exist

April showers
Bring may flowers,
But what happens when showers are shed within the month of may?
Do floods persist,
Dampening the summer?
Do days filled with sun,
Leave the wetness behind?
Do all that can't swim,
Eventually die?
Kill me now,
For I'm too young to cry.

As a Child I Never Knew

I'm no longer an infant.
I became a toddler when i learned to walk.
I bet you regret teaching me
Right, left, right, left.
Teaching me to walk meant i wouldn't always be in your arms.
Now that I'm out of your view,
Now that I'm a young adult,
Why does it hurt you?
You taught me to walk before i was two.
